Gildan G500 size chart: the full published run
Eight published sizes, an exactly arithmetic grade, and the numbers every other blank in the catalog gets compared against — printed as the record stores them.
Last verified: 26 August 2026
The Gildan G500 Heavy Cotton Tee is published in eight sizes, S through 5XL, and its grade is arithmetic. Flat chest steps from 18.0" at S to 32.0" at 5XL in exact 2.00" increments; body length runs 28.0" to 35.0" in exact 1.00" increments, with no rounding wobble anywhere in the run. That regularity is most of why a Gildan G500 size chart is the thing every other blank gets held against. It is also the widest run in this catalog, tied with the Hanes 5250T — the only two styles published to 5XL.
What follows is the catalog's record for this style, printed as stored; where it holds nothing, the page says so. The other seven styles sit on the blank tee size comparison shelf.

Three points are published across the whole run, and they are the three heaviest-weighted points in ShirtMath's comparison for tops: chest counts 0.28 of a fit match, length 0.20, sleeve 0.12.
| Size | Chest (in, flat) | Length (in) | Sleeve (in) |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 18.0 | 28.0 | 15.625 |
| M | 20.0 | 29.0 | 17.0 |
| L | 22.0 | 30.0 | 18.5 |
| XL | 24.0 | 31.0 | 20.0 |
| 2XL | 26.0 | 32.0 | 21.5 |
| 3XL | 28.0 | 33.0 | 22.375 |
| 4XL | 30.0 | 34.0 | 10.25 |
| 5XL | 32.0 | 35.0 | 10.6 |
What else the record holds, and what it doesn't
The catalog also stores shoulder, hem sweep, bicep, sleeve opening and neck for all eight sizes — a Medium reads 17.74" shoulder, 19.51" sweep, 7.32" bicep, 6.44" cuff, 6.90" neck. Note the second decimal, then note the same record's ±0.3" variance: the tolerance is thirty times the precision. Read those five as working values, not factory promises.
The record lists the fabric as a knit at 180 gsm, but all eight blank styles here carry 180 gsm, so that field cannot separate a heavyweight from a lightweight — do not compare weights with it. Fibre composition and stretch are empty: the catalog holds no composition value for this style, and the page will not invent one. Confidence on the row is 60, the value seven of the eight styles carry; only the Hanes 5250T scores higher, at 68.
How the G500 compares at shared sizes
Published differences between the G500 and three other styles at every shared size. Positive means the other style is wider or longer, 0.0 means the published numbers are identical, an em dash means that size is not published.

Three distinct behaviours, none of them folklore. The Hanes 5250T publishes the G500's chest exactly at all eight shared sizes, then adds a full inch of length from 2XL up — interchangeable on width, diverging only in the big sizes and only on length. The Comfort Colors C4017 is offset by a constant +0.5" of chest at all six shared sizes, its length pulling ahead from level at S to a full inch by XL. The Next Level 3600, sold as a fitted crew, is published wider than the G500 at the two smallest sizes before converging exactly from L up.
Widen that to the whole set and the baseline claim holds up in counts: of the 39 size cells the six other unisex styles share with the G500, 31 publish exactly the G500's chest. The Bella+Canvas 3001C, Champion T525C, Gildan 5400 and Hanes 5250T match it at every shared size; only the C4017 differs consistently, and only by half an inch. The full ranking is at which blank runs biggest, the side-by-side grid on the t-shirt measurements chart.
One caveat, because that count flatters the G500: Gildan's own 5400 long sleeve is stored against the same source listing URL, so its identical body numbers may be an artefact of the source rather than a second independent spec that happens to agree.
